Award Criterion

First Semester Academic Recognition
3.25 to 3.99 GPA    Academic GPA which does not include PE or Elective
4.0 GPA                    Academic GPA which does not include PE or Elective


End of Year
Presidential Gold Award:      3.5 to 4.0 Overall Grade Point Average for the Fall Semester and scored a Standard Exceeded on last year’s ELA or Math CAASPP . The Presidential Gold Award is only the exiting 8th graders.


Principal's Award: Students with an Overall Grade Point Average of 3.0 or above who do not qualify for the above mentioned Presidential Gold or Silver. 

Perseverance: These students received 5 or more “Outstanding” marks on their most recent progress report in the area of Work Habits from the current report card.
 *6th Grade 6 or more "Outstanding" marks because they have more teachers with their electives.

Outstanding Citizenship: These students received 5 or more “Outstanding” marks on their most recent progress report/report card  in the area of Citizenship from the current report card.
*6th Grade 6 or more "Outstanding" marks.

Perfect Attendance: These students were enrolled and present each and every day of the school year and/or have any absence was made up with Saturday School Attendance. 
 
CJSF Criteria
Students must earn a total of 10 points using the semester grade to be eligible (not based on GPA). Points are granted as follows: A = 3, B = 1; the PE course is excluded. Membership is not automatic; students apply each semester. CJSF is an honor and service organization.
8th grade students qualify for 1st semester CJSF based on points from the previous semester report card (June, 2nd semester, of grade 7). 
8th grade students must reapply for 2nd semester CJSF based on points from their 1stsemester grade 8 report card.
Incoming 7th grade students may qualify for 2nd semester CJSF based on points earned from the 1st semester grade 7 report card.
All qualified CJSF students are contacted and need to apply to become a member; applications and dues must be turned in to be a member in good standing.
