Welcome

Dear Parents and Guardians,

My name is Julie Howard, and I am honored to serve as the Principal of Park View. Having previously served as both Dean and Assistant Principal here from 2022 to 2024, I am familiar with the incredible students, dedicated staff, and supportive families that make this school so special. I am thrilled to continue this journey in a new capacity and look forward to another great year of growth and collaboration.

The beginning of a new school year is a time full of energy and opportunity with new faces, new classes, and fresh possibilities for every student. Whether you are joining us for the first time or returning as part of the Eagle family, we are excited to welcome you.

School starts at 8:00 am and ends at 2:30 pm Monday through Friday. Our Office will be open from 7:30 am to 4:00 pm daily.  Fridays are minimum days where we start at 8am and release at 12:32pm.

Listed below is some important and helpful information as we prepare for the 2025-2026  school year:

  • School starts at 8:00 am. Students should not be coming to school before 7:30 am. We do not have staff to supervise them until that time unless your student is enrolled in zero-period P.E. Zero-period PE begins at 6:55 am Monday- Thursday and 7:13 am on Fridays.

  • Back-to-School Night will be held on Thursday, August 21st from 6–7:30 pm. This is a minimum day for students, with dismissal at 12:32 pm. More information will be provided closer to the day.

  • Ed Filijan Photography is our school's photographer. They will take pictures on August 14 during the students' P.E. class. Students will be given an I.D. card after pictures have been taken. Students will always need to keep their I.D. cards with them during the day. This will be part of our continued lunch purchases, incentives, and security procedures, such as leaving a classroom.

  • Breakfast and lunch meals will be provided to all students, free of charge. Students can bring their own lunches from home, but please do not bring “outside” food such as McDonald's or Pizza during the school day or send outside food via Uber Eats or DoorDash. This will not be accepted in the office.  Breakfast will be served from 7:30-7:50 each day.

  • All students entering the 7th grade must have received their Tdap vaccine and provided documentation to the health office before the first day of school. Please note that students will not be permitted to remain in school without the proper documentation. Please call (909)790-8550, ext. 5306 or ext. 5309 to find out about Tdap clinics in the district. You will not be able to see your child’s schedule in Aeries if they need their immunization.

  • P.E. clothes will be sold in the students' P.E. classes a week or two after school begins. They are priced at $25.00. Students can also purchase a sweatshirt for an additional amount. Don't hesitate to contact us if you need help with the cost.

  • School ends at 2:30 pm. Please arrange to pick your child up by that time. There will be limited supervision after 3:00 pm.

  • If you cannot pick your student up by 3:30 pm, S.T.A.R.S., through the Yucaipa Community Center, will be helping with after-school care. Their times are 2:30–6:00 pm. You can contact them at  909-790-7460. At this point, we are currently working to develop after-school clubs, activities, sports, and additional programs for students to participate in.

  • School supply lists will come from teachers at the beginning of the school year, but most students will need the following: colored pencils, glue sticks, 5 composition notebooks, pencils, and highlighters.

  • Every Friday, Park View will have minimum days for teacher collaboration. Minimum days end at 12:32 pm.

  • Starting in September, we will start to have after-school clubs, sports, and interventions. All students will be informed of these during their PE classes, announcements, and teachers. We will also post information on our social media and ParentSquare.

  • Please check your email and our social media pages and accounts to know the most up-to-date information.

If a child becomes sick at school, we will have an area for them to rest and call family to come to pick them up. Please also call our attendance clerk to let us know if your child is absent due to an illness.

For important updates, please check your email, ParentSquare, visit our website, or the district website. You can also follow us on our Social Media pages to stay connected.

In partnership,

Mrs. Julie Howard, Mrs. Irene Perez, and Mr. Scott Colin

We offer many exciting opportunities for students to be involved on campus with programs like AVID, ASB, WEB, band, choir, art, and ROP classes. We also have a wide variety of sports teams and clubs on campus to engage students outside of their academics. Our goal is to have a place for every student to belong here at Park View. We are also a Silver Recognized PBIS School where we teach students how to SOAR (Safety, Ownership, Attitude, and Respect) in all that they do, both here at Park View and in the community.

Not only do we want students to belong, but we want parents to belong! Park View has several committees for parents to participate in like our English Learner Advisory Committee (ELAC), School Site Council, Community Cabinet, and PTA. We would love for parents to be involved because you are an important part of our educational community.

We look forward to making this year a great year!
